19"The people I love, I call to account—prod and correct and guide so that they'll live at their best. Up on your feet, then! About face! Run after God!
Revelation 3:19 (Amplified Bible)
19Those whom I [dearly and tenderly] love, I tell their faults and convict and convince and reprove and chasten [I discipline and instruct them]. So be enthusiastic and in earnest and burning with zeal and repent [changing your mind and attitude].
How do people know that you are a Christian? Has it changed your behavior? Do you have a Christian face and a worldly face? Do you walk your talk? Do you "run" your talk? Are you charging ahead in faith knowing that God loves you and is in control? Are you enthusiastic about being a follower of Jesus Christ? Do you "wear your faith on your sleeve"? Is your faith contagious, spreading to all who come in contact with you? Do those most close to you reflect your behavior and faith?
You need to continually be asking yourself these questions and many more. God keeps a check on your obedience, but the best way to walk in obedience is by being continually zealous for God. The more you exhibit your faith in public, the less you will be tempted to doing wrong. As Christ's ambassador you are less likely to fall into sin, because you know that in doing so you minimize His sacrifice on the cross on your behalf.
So, the best recipe for staying straight and disciplined for God is to go all out in zeal, joy and enthusiasm, demonstrating for all those around you in whom you have placed your faith.
