What Do You Believe? - July 8, 2015

2 Timothy 1:8-10;12 (New International Version)
8So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner. But join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God, 9who has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, 10but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.
12That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day.

Do you know what you believe in? There are many here in our Facebook community that have different faiths and beliefs. There are many that call themselves Christian, such as Protestants and Catholics, Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses. There are those who agree that Jesus existed, such as Muslims and Jews, and there are those who believe that God reveals Himself in all kinds of faiths. There are Baha'i, Buddhists, Zoroastrians, Taoists and Hindus. There are also those who are Agnostics, Atheists, Pagans, Satanists, Naturalists and Universalists.

So with all these different beliefs, who is right? Is there such as thing as absolute truth? How can you know what is true and what is not? Do you have a clear understanding in whom or what you have placed your trust? Over these next few weeks I would like to open up this discussion. We will look at what Christians present as the truth, and we will learn why they believe what they do, and you can stand on the solid foundation of what you believe. Now is the time for you to be sure of what you believe in, because it will make a difference for now, your future and your eternity.
