Galatians 3:28(New Century Version)
28 In Christ, there is no difference between Jew and Greek, slave and free person, male and female. You are all the same in Christ Jesus.
I really believe that the word "Equality" has been hi-jacked in our country by political agendas. The term has been used to support everything from abortion to gay marriage; at the same time the words "racism", "bigotry", and "chauvinism" have been thrown around to minimize anyone who has a different stand on these moral issues of our day. Nothing minimizes a human being more than by calling them an inflammatory name that describes them in these terms.
In addition, many have used these terms to describe anyone who would embrace the God of the Bible, who call these behaviors as being wrong. Fact is the Bible does say that doing these things is wrong; does that necessarily mean that the Bible and these people are the ones who are wrong? It seems that whenever the Bible states that a certain behavior is wrong, just because that behavior becomes acceptable in society does not mean it is right. If we are to use the Bible to dictate some behaviors such as stealing and murder, why can't we use it as a guide for other behaviors?
Then what is being truly equal? God made it very clear what it was in this passage in the Book of Galatians in the New Testament. He made it clear that is Christ Jesus, we are all the same: red and yellow, black and white, men and women, able and disabled. All have true worth and value in Jesus. He died for everyone and redeemed everyone unto Himself by His work of salvation, and there is nothing that makes us more equal than that. Those who call themselves Christian and do not treat others as equals are not Christians.
It is time that the world understood what true Christianity is all about. Only through Jesus Christ can you truly be free and equal.
