A 9/11 Reminder - September 11, 2012
Proverbs 14:12(New King James Version)
12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.
John 10:10(New King James Version)
10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
Today marks 11 years, since that terrible day on a beautiful September morning when Islamic Fundamentalists horrifically destroyed thousands of lives and changed the world forever. Many would choose to forget the fact that this was a "religiously" motivated act. For the perpetrators, it was their ultimate desire to sacrifice themselves in service to their god, and they felt they were right in doing so.
This verse in Proverbs was especially poignant to me, and very appropriate to what is going on with mankind today. As in those days, there are many who are doing terrible things in the name of their god and their religion. Then their are many who since those days could care less about God and want nothing to do with Him; for them they believe there is always tomorrow. In their minds they feel that what they are doing is right, but where will it lead them in the future? On that day 11 years ago, Satan sought to take down everyone he could; he sought to drive fear into the hearts of as many as he could. His goal is to have as many as he can follow him.
Unfortunately many have followed his path. But I say God is far greater, and His purpose is to turn the hearts of the people back to Him. He wants us not to know that the only security we can have in this life is through Jesus Christ. As was shown by that day, our tomorrow is not guaranteed; a single insane act can end it all for each and everyone of us. We would be well served to ask ourselves, what we will do with Jesus Christ today, while we still have the chance to answer.
