Carry Me Daddy! - July 10, 2012

Isaiah 46:4(New International Reader's Version)
4 I will continue to carry you even when you are old.
I will take good care of you even when your hair is gray.
I have made you. And I will carry you.
I will take care of you. And I will save you.
I am the Lord.

One of my favorite memories as a Dad was when my daughter was three years old. There were many times when she wanted to see what was going on, or when she needed to feel secure. It was at those times that she would lift up her little arms toward me and say, "Carry me Daddy; carry me!" Of course I would pick her up and she would smile the sweetest smile, and bury her head into my shoulder.

It was at those times that I felt most like a Dad. Now that she is seventeen, those times have been replaced by a big hug and a sigh. Still, I enjoy being that place of security and protection for my daughter, and she still looks to me to make sure that everything will be okay..

We often have those times in life where we are having problems and anxiety, not knowing what is going on around us. We long for that sense of security and protection, and that "shoulder" that we can rest our head against, and know that everything will be okay. God offers that to us; He promises us that He made us and that He will carry us. He will take good care of us until the end of our days.

Because we can't see Him, it is hard to realize that God really is there, but if you will diligently seek Him in His word and "reach out" to Him in prayer, He will bring us the relief and comfort we need. He has made us, and God will save us from whatever we are going through.

This is a reposting of a post I did some time ago; I hope you enjoy it!
