Success 101 - August 17, 2011

Proverbs 2:6-8(New International Version)
6 For the LORD gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
7 He holds success in store for the upright,
he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,
8 for he guards the course of the just
and protects the way of his faithful ones.

One of the highest goals in life is to be successful at what we do. Whether it is at work, or when participating in a sports activity, all of us want to be cosidered a winner. When that is our goal and if we work hard, then oftentimes we will accomplish it. When that success "finds you" and it is acknowledged by those around you how do you respond?

If you are walking with Jesus Christ and tuned into God's guidance and direction, He should be the One who gets the credit. We can do nothing without Him, and He is the One who has given us the opportunity and ability to be successful. He want us to be a winner, and because of that we need to be sure that He receives the praise and glory when we are.

Next time you make that big sale, score that big touchdown, or accomplish that huge goal, make sure you remember who should receive the credit. When you acknowledge Him before those around you, He will also acknowledge you and bless your efforts.
