Proverbs 2:1-8(New Living Translation)
1 My child, listen to what I say, and treasure my commands.
2 Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding.
3 Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding.
4 Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures.
5 Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God.
6 For the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
7 He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity.
8 He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him.
What if you were told that you would have the opportunity to discover a hidden treasure? Most everyone recalls the stories of pirates and buried treasure, and even the Indiana Jones movies that follows the tresure hunter on his quests. We may have even played pirates as children, and drew treasure maps for our friends to find something that was hidden. Treasure hunting carries with it a sense of excitement that we will have a chance to find something that will make us rich.
God has given us the opportunity to find hidden treasure. He has placed instructions and a guide of how to find this treasure in His word. Once we learn to read and understand where we are being guided, we will find riches and treasure that will be beyond measure. The wealth of what He gives is beyond worldly comparison. All we have to do is to accept His book of instruction, open it, and begin our search. Once you do, you will never be poor again, because you will receive riches for your soul.
