Isaiah 41:10(New King James Version)
10 Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
What can you count on these days? Who can you rely on no matter what? It is really interesting how few people seem to be around when you are going through difficulty. It's as if they sense something is wrong, so they avoid you like the "plague".
Maybe they think you will ask them for something. When you need others the most, it seems that you see and hear from them the least. No wonder that when people are asked how they are doing, most will answer in the affirmative, as if nothing is ever wrong. God help the person who would break down in honesty and tell the truth.
I know that I am talking about what many of you have encountered during times of difficulty. Whether it has been a death, or unemployment, or just rough times in general, I know that many of you feel that you have been deserted by those "friends" around you. It is easy to relate to the feelings noted above. But if you are a Christ follower, you need not feel that way. God has promised us that He will be there to "hold us up with His right hand" during those times that you need help.
I believe that whenever God mentions that His help will come from His "righteous right hand", He is speaking about Jesus Christ, who is at the right hand of the Father. Jesus knows what we are going through, because during His time on earth, He went through many of the same things we did. He can relate to us; He has "walked in our shoes".
There is nothing that we can encounter that He will not be sure to help you through; He is the only One that you can really count on, all of the time. He will never avoid you or ignore you. He will be there whenever you call on Him.
2 Let us look only to Jesus, the One who began our faith and who makes it perfect. He suffered death on the cross. But he accepted the shame as if it were nothing because of the joy that God put before him. And now he is sitting at the right side of God's throne. Hebrews 12:2(New Century Version)
