Trouble Shooting - June 2, 2011

Isaiah 55:6(New International Reader's Version)
6 Turn to the Lord before it's too late. Call out to him while he's still ready to help you.

Philippians 4:6 (New International Version)
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

As we discussed yesterday, the world is full of troubles. It seems everywhere we turn that something is causing difficulty in our lives. We long for relief from the burden that we are under, so what can we do to get it form God? What will break us free from our troubles and distress?

The first thing we need to do is to seek Him diligently in prayer. God is close to all of us, not up in Heaven sitting around and not being active in the world. Many other religions follow a god that is distant and impersonal, almost untouchable; that is why its always about what they have to do to gain favor with their god.

Our God seeks us and in turn wants us to seek Him. He wants to carry our burdens and wants our total dependence on Him. Why would Jesus step out of Heaven unless God sought to be near to us. Why would Jesus in turn give us the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, when He returned to the Father? In identifying with us, He allowed us to identify with Him. Up close and personal; that is what is so wonderful about our God.

If your troubles and distress have you at the "end of your rope", lay out each and every burden before Him in prayer. Ask Him in His grace and mercy to show you His will, and to give you guidance through the storm. He will answer you; He will bring you peace and comfort through your "storm". He will make sure that what you are going through, will work out for your best.
