Heart's Desire - June 8, 2011

Psalm 20:4(New International Version)
4 May he give you the desire of your heart
and make all your plans succeed.

Is there something that you have always dreamed of doing? Is there a business you have wanted to start, or a place you wanted to be, or a ministry you have wanted to start, or an accomplishment that you always wanted to have, or a goal you wanted to meet, or something else that has driven you for most of your life? Is it something that has stayed with you year after year, that you have longed for, and especially that you have prayed for?

Maybe it hasn't been for a long time; maybe it is something God placed on your heart just recently, a vision of sorts that you can't quit thinking about. You see yourself doing it; you see yourself reaching that pinnacle, seeing yourself doing something important. It is something that you know is from God, because you have been obedient and as sought Him as much as you can. You surrendered it to Him, and asked Him to take it away if it wasn't for Him. It's a passion that drives you and you know that God would be pleased because of it.

At times doubts crept in, and questioned whether or not you were really hearing from God. You felt selfish, thinking that maybe it was only your wish, and you should feel guilty for ever dwelling on it. But then God confirms it in your spirit, and you know that the doubts were all from the one who would rather see you fail. You grow even more determined, saying that you know that God is in this. You seek His leading and know that all things are possible through Christ who gives you strength(Philippians 4:13). Your faith builds as you KNOW that it is His voice(John 10:27).

Yes, God want to give you the desires of your heart(Psalm 37:4). He wants to give you good gifts(Matthew 7:11). He does want to see His children prosper, and only in Him will your plans succeed(Proverbs 16:3). Whatever it is, God is the author of everything good and pure that you wish to do. He want to see you do good things. Trust in Him(Proverbs 3:5-6), and He will help you accomplish your dreams.
