Genesis 3:15 (Amplified Bible)
15And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her Offspring; He will bruise and tread your head underfoot, and you will lie in wait and bruise His heel.
What do you do when you are so lost in your sinful lifestyle that you don't know where to turn? I had messed up and I knew it. I was in a place that I didn't want to be and I needed help. Problem was that I didn't know what to do or where to turn. I had fallen so far, and I was in a desparate place, really needing relief from the hurt and the pain. I needed a Way out, because I could no longer do it on my own.
It was a terrible choice that brought with it fear and shook them to their very souls, and in that fear they knew that they would have to hide in shame for what they had done. It seemed harmless in the moment, but it had really changed everything. No longer would they have the closeness of their loving God as they had in the Garden. The man and woman hid themselves and what was once holy and without blemish, was now ugly and stained in sin.
The peace and tranquility in the Garden had been shattered; a holy and just God could no longer be with His creation. The one who had led them astray for the moment had gotten his way; he had brought down the most precious object of God's love and joy. He had brought them to his level and they had turned away from God. Something had to be done and God would have to be the One to do it.
God would have to provide a Way, and as He dealt out the consequence of the treachery of Satan and the punishment of the disobedience of mankind, He foretold the answer that only He could provide. There would be a time of reackoning where the woman would bear the Way, and although for a time Satan would gloat over his victory, the only Way would soon prevail.
