Matthew 6:31-34 (New King James Version)
31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
As Jesus set about teaching the people about the Kingdom of Heaven, he knew that many that followed him would be troubled by the everyday problems of life. He made it very clear what the concerns and the priorities should be. We should first focus of the things of God, the Kingdom of God.
You see, God's kingdom is the rule and reign of Christ in our lives, and we who have been saved by him, need to live like it. We can no longer be focused on the world and its priorities, but we need to be doing the workd that God would have us do. If we do so, we are given a promise. God will take care of the rest.
