John 3:16-17 (GOD’S WORD Translation)
16God loved the world this way: He gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life. 17God sent his Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but to save the world.
Colossians 2:14-15 (New Century Version)
14 He canceled the debt, which listed all the rules we failed to follow. He took away that record with its rules and nailed it to the cross.15 God stripped the spiritual rulers and powers of their authority. With the cross, he won the victory and showed the world that they were powerless.
Over the last few days we have looked into what true Christianity is all about. We have discussed the fact that there has been alot of misinformation about the "do's and don'ts", the rules, regulations and traditions or other so-called requirements that some churches say are necessary to be saved. We see how this misinformation has confused the non-believing world around us and even confused those who have embraced the Christian faith, and how it has created a burden that keeps people away from Jesus Christ.
God has freely given us the way back to Him, by giving us His Son to act as substituting sacrifice as payment for our sins. He has lifted the barrier between mankind and God through His gracious gift on our behalf. Nothing defines True Christianity better than John 3:16 - 16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
So where does that leave us? What should we do so that those who are perishing around us can hear and learn about this wonderful gift? How can people really get to know about our Savior Jesus? Our responsibility is best spelled out below:
9-10But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God's instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted. 1 Peter 2:9-10(The Message)
