No Fear - September 26, 2010

Deuteronomy 31:6 (New International Version)
6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."

Joshua 1:9 (New King James Version)
9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

Psalm 27:1 (New King James Version)
1 The LORD is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid?

Isaiah 41:13 (New Century Version)
13 I am the Lord your God, who holds your right hand,
and I tell you, 'Don't be afraid. I will help you.'

Romans 8:31-34 (New International Version)
31What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

How many of us allow ourselves to be ruled by fear. It hinders us; keeps us in the shadows; stops us from doing things we need to; holds us back from becoming all that God wants us to be. For some, it may even be keeping you from the Lord, because the fear of revealing who you are and what you have done, will keep you from being accepted by God. You fear that He will reject you because of it. His salvation will not be for you
as it is for others. The fear may also have you thinking that you will have to give something up that you are not ready to.

Be of "good cheer" the Bible tells us. God is there for you. He wants to let you know that there is nothing to fear. If you surrender yourself to Him and his grace and mercy, He will help you overcome the fear. He is there to forgive and forget all that is holding you back from Him. He is there to go before you and help you complete what He has created you for. He lights the path that you should take, and He utlimatley will complete His work in you.

Your job is to turn it all over to Him. Surrender yourself to Him. Trust in Him. He is for you and no one can ever come against you! Have no fear, and rest in the knowledge of His love for you.
